A DRIVER remained in hospital this morning after a car crashed into a house.
The accident happened on Thursday (December 22) at about 12.30am.
We reported on the incident at the time but police have now said the car was taken without the owner's consent.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "A car crashed into a house in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, at 12.30am on Thursday (December 22).
"The driver decamped, but was found by a dog unit in Norman Crescent just over ten minutes later where it was discovered that he had sustained serious injuries in the crash.
"He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment and remained there on Christmas Eve morning.
"He is a 29-year-old man from Shoreham. He has not been arrested at this time."
