Craig Mackail-Smith has been backed to put himself on the spot again for Albion against his old club Peterborough.
Mackail-Smith converted his first penalty but had the second saved by Paddy Kenny in Friday night’s 2-2 home draw with Leeds, the Seagulls’ fourth failure out of 11 since returning to the Championship last season.
Midfielder Dean Hammond said: “Since I’ve been here he has scored two penalties (one at Watford). A second penalty in the same game is difficult. You are always maybe thinking should I put it in the same place or change.
“These things happen. Macca’s got the nerve and the ability to take the penalties, so everyone will back him taking another one tonight.”
