Albion's attempts to land striker Simeon Jackson on loan from Norwich before today's 5pm deadline have been thwarted.
Norwich boss Chris Hughton said at his lunchtime press conference at Carrow Road that nobody will be leaving the Premier League side, including Jackson.
A Norwich source told The Argus yesterday a deal was "very likely" but Albion coach Charlie Oatway cast doubt about the deal going ahead this morning.
The Canaries are still not safe from relegation and Hughton does not want to be left facing a striker shortage near the end of the season.
