Albion cannot wait to put their stadium on the world stage by hosting top class rugby union.

The Amex will host two matches in the Rugby World Cup in 2015.

Managing director Martin Perry believes the venue will shine on the global spotlight.

Perry said: “Games will be shown around the world. It is fantastic for the stadium, fantastic for the club, fantastic for the city.

“We will get visitors from all over the world and is going to broaden the appeal, broaden the scope of the stadium.”

Perry is excited about the fixtures handed to Brighton in today’s announcement at Twickenham.

The Amex – or Brighton Community Stadium as it will be known during the World Cup – will host the opening fixtures in Pool B.

South Africa will play a qualifier from Asia on Saturday, September 19.

Samoa will take on a nation from the American continent the following day.

Perry said: “They are fantastic fixtures. We are thrilled with the games we have got.

“Everybody will come and make a long weekend of it.”
