Albion have completed the signing of utility player Greg Halford on a month's loan from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.
Halford could be on the bench against Wigan tonight as centre-half cover in place of the injured Aaron Hughes.
The much-travelled 29-year-old has been signed primarily because of the Seagulls' shortage of options in the centre of defence, although he could also fill in at right-back or up front for Sami Hyypia's side.
Halford, more than 6ft 4ins tall, is surplus to requirements at the City Ground, along with centre-half Danny Collins.
A recent loan move to Bolton was wrecked when he suffered an ankle injury.
Halford has made approaching 400 league appearances for eight clubs, the majority for his first club Colchester.
He has also played for Reading, Sunderland, Charlton, Sheffield United, Wolves, Portsmouth and Forest.
