Loan signing Emmanuel Ledesma will have to wait to make his Albion debut after boss Chris Hughton named an unchanged team for today’s clash with Birmingham City at the Amex.
Ledesma, who joined from Middlesbrough during the week, is included on the bench as the Seagulls attempt to record only their second home win since November.
As well as resisting the temptation to throw the winger straight in for his full home debut, Hughton has opted to keep both Dale Stephens and Kazenga LuaLua on the bench as they ease their way back from injuries.
Stephens has come on in the latter stages of the last two matches – goalless draws at Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday – while LuaLua is yet to start since returning against Nottingham Forest two weeks ago.
Birmingham have made two changes to the side which drew 1-1 with high-flying Middlebrough at home on Wednesday.
Lloyd Dyer comes in for David Cotterill on the left of midfield while Rob Kiernan replaces David Davis in the holding role in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Albion (4-3-3): Stockdale; Bruno, Greer, Dunk, Bennett; Calderon, Ince, Kayal; Baldock, Best, Teixeira. Subs: Walton, Hughes, Stephens, O’Grady, Mackail-Smith, LuaLua, Ledesma.
Birmingham (4-2-3-1): Randolph; Caddis, Robinson, Spector, Grounds; Gleeson, Kiernan; Gray, Shinnie, Dyer; Donaldson. Subs: Doyle, Thomas, Cotterill, Novak, Reilly, Zigic, Arthur.
