Albion expect Bruno to ease their injury and suspension concerns for fifth-placed Cardiff’s visit on Saturday.

The experienced Spanish right-back was forced off in the second half of the 2-2 draw at Bolton.

Bruno hurt an ankle in a challenge by Wellington Silva, Bolton’s on-loan Brazilian winger from Arsenal.

He continued after treatment but eventually had to come off.

Manager Chris Hughton told The Argus: “We think he will be okay for Saturday.”

If Bruno was unfit it would compound Albion’s potential shortage of wide attackers.

His withdrawal prompted a right-sided reshuffle at Bolton, with Solly March introduced and Liam Rosenior dropping back into the defence.

Left-winger Kazenga LuaLua is sidelined for several weeks by groin trouble.

His stand-in, Jamie Murphy, is sweating on a successful appeal against his red card at Bolton to be available to face Cardiff.

Inigo Calderon and Elvis Manu could come into starting contention if Bruno and Murphy are missing.

Meanwhile, a young Albion under-21 side went down 3-0 at Blackburn Rovers last night.

Chris Taylor gave Rovers an early lead at Ewood Park with Sacha Petschi and Anton Forrester completing the scoring in the second half.

Albion: Smith, Hunt, Barnett, Barclay, Dallison, White, Ward (Tilley 64), Starkey (Tighe 82), Akindayini (Kandi 72), Harris, Monakana. Subs not used: Vose, Cadman.
