Albion are still on the lookout for a left-back on loan.

Gaetan Bong is out injured until January and manager Chris Hughton is wary of being caught out after moving Liam Rosenior into the position in the 1-1 draw at Reading.

The loan window shuts on November 25 and Albion cannot make a signing after that until January.

Hughton said: “Liam does what he does. He shows his experience in that position and I thought he was good for us there.

“I think we need to protect ourselves as much as possible and at this moment we don’t have a loan player in. We really need to assess where we are. We’ve got the international break coming up after the weekend game (MK Dons at home).”

Fringe left-back Adam Chicksen, overlooked by Hughton since his first game in charge nine months ago, is set to stay at Leyton Orient for longer following the expiry of his month on loan.

Hughton said: “That will probably go on further, more than the 28 days, but we have an instant recall on him.”
