Vahid Hambo came off the bench to make his Albion debut as the under-21s went down 2-1 against West Ham at the Amex last night.
The Finnish striker – who has been sidelined by an ankle injury since signing from FC Inter Turku in the summer – played the final 17 minutes while former Real Madrid youngster Jack Harper made his first start before coming off early in the second half.
Winger Jeffrey Monakana pulled a goal back for the Seagulls with eight minutes to go after a first-half penalty from Martin Samuelsen and a Josh Cullen strike had put the Hammers in control.
Albion: Walton; Hunt, Barclay, Dallison, Starkey; Ward, Harris (Tighe, 81), Molumby, Monakana; Akindayini (Hambo, 73), Harper (Tilley, 48). Doherty (GK), Davies.
