Albion stars Tomer Hemed and Beram Kayal have assured family, friends and fans they are safe in Paris.

The players are spending part of their international break in the French capital with their partners and children.

They had posted photos on social media of themselves in the past couple of days enjoying attractions such as Disneyland and the Arc de Triomphe.

But they remained quiet last night as a series of gun and bomb attacks took place across the city.

Hemed has now posted a haunting of the Eiffel Tower with its lights dimmed on Instagram with the message: "Bad day for all the world. We are safe thanks for all the messages and the worries."

Kayal did likewise with the words: "Shocked news at Paris, praying for the city and sad for everyone here, thanks for the worries we are safe."

The families are due to return to England tomorrow.

Seagulls midfielder Dale Stephens this morning posted a family snap taken near the Eiffel Tower with the message: "Beautiful day ended in disaster. #prayforparis"
