Chis Hughton expects Solly March to miss the rest of the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The Albion boss confirmed the injury after last night’s 2-2 thriller at QPR.
A more exact period of absence could be determined when the winger sees a specialist tomorrow but Hughton suspects his campaign is over.
March was stretchered off in the first half of the Seagulls’ game at Derby on Saturday.
Hughton told The Argus: “He has ruptured his ACL That’s the bad news. That we know.
“We will find out the extent on Thursday and for what period of time he will be out.
“Obviously at this moment you are looking at that being the season for him.”
March has made a big impact this season and Hughton added: “We are all devastated. He is a young player in really good form for us.”
Dale Stephens and March’s replacement Rajiv van La Parra were on target last night before Albion let a 2-0 lead slip.
Stephens, who netted with an overhead kick, said of his strike: “It would have meant a lot more if it had contributed to three points.
“The overall feeling from the game is obviously disappointment. We should be holding on to a 2-0 lead but it’s a difficult place to come.”
