Sami Hyypia could be on his way to a cup final and relegation after leaving Albion a year ago.
The Seagulls' ex-manager has steered new club FC Zurich through to the semi-finals of the Swiss Cup and a clash next year against Sion.
But they are next-to-bottom in the Swiss Super League.
Hyypia quit Albion a year ago today after a draw at Wolves left them third-bottom, four points adrift of safety in the Championship with one win in 18 games.
They go to Brentford under the Finn's successor Chris Hughton on Boxing Day in third spot following Saturday's 3-0 home defeat by leaders Middlesbrough which ended a 21-match unbeaten start.
