Albion's Jiri Skalak is making an early return from the Euros.
The Seagulls winger was an unused substitute as Czech Republic lost 2-0 to Turkey last night to ensure they finished bottom of Group D.
It is not good news for Skalak or the Czechs but Albion boss Chris Hughton will welcome having January signing Skalak available for the bulk of pre-season.
Skalak’s compatriot Matej Vydra, a transfer target for Albion at the start of last season, is hoping to make a fresh impact back at parent club Watford under new manager Walter Mazzarri.
The striker, cut from the provisional Czech Republic squad for the Euro finals, held talks with Albion with a view to joining them on loan.
Watford accepted a more lucrative arrangement with Reading, who paid a loan fee in excess of £2 million.
Albion’s 2016-17 Championship fixtures will be available at theargus.co.uk from 9am today.
