Uwe Huenemeier has told fans he is closing in on a comeback.

The German defender believes “the end is in sight” after eight months out with a groin injury.

His update comes as good news to the Seagulls, who will use Bruno in central defence at Derby on Saturday in the absence of Huenemeier and Connor Goldson.

Huenemeier tweeted: “I haven't done that for ages, but finally i smashed some balls into the goal today. What a feeling that is. The end is in sight!!”

Although he has tweeted in the past in enthusiastic terms about his recovery, only to suffer setbacks, supporters will be cheered by Huenemeier's latest update this afternoon.

Ex-Albion loanee Darren Bent is favourite to lead the Rams attack on Saturday with Tom Ince a strong candidate to play just off him in a 4-4-1-1 formation.
