Albion were sent spinning to home defeat by a Scott Hogan double today.
The Brentford striker scored on 29 and 70 minutes to secure a 2-0 win for his side at the Amex.
He got in behind the right-hand side of the home defence to slide home the opener when Albion appeared to be getting on top.
His second came with an explosive finish high into the net from an angle.
The well-organised Bees had other chances as they counter-attacked effectively.
But, despite being below their best, Albion will look back at a couple of key moments when they could have changed the course of a gloomy afternoon.
Tomer Hemed saw his effort cleared off the line by John Egan right on half-time when he should probably have scored.
And substitute Elvis Manu thought he should have had a penalty when he was challenged by Harlee Dean at 1-0, only to be booked for diving.
