Albion injury victims Kazenga LuaLua and Richie Towell are on course to swell boss Chris Hughton’s selection options – after missing out on more minutes.
The winger and midfielder trained yesterday instead of being involved in last night’s under-23’s fixture at Swansea.
LuaLua and Towell made comebacks from knee problems in the under-23s against Leicester earlier this month.
They had further 45-minute run-outs three days later at the Amex as Albion progressed into the knockout stages of the Checkatrade Trophy with an early winner from Towell against Leyton Orient.
LuaLua has not featured in the first team since the defeat at former club Newcastle at the end of August due to cartilage surgery.
Irishman Towell, sidelined since the summer, has yet to make his full Championship debut since a move from Dundalk almost a year ago.
LuaLua and Towell will be candidates for loan moves in the January transfer window if they cannot force their way back into first team contention.
An early goal from Oli McBurnie condemned Albion’s youngsters to a 1-0 defeat at Swansea. McBurnie headed in a cross from Tyler Reid after 15 minutes to end an eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions for Simon Rusk’s men.
Albion under-23s: Sanchez; Collar, Hall, Hunt, Cox; Hutchinson; Ward (Tighe, 69), Starkey (Mandroiu, 80), Molumby, Bjordal (Harper, 80); Tilley. Subs not used: Vose, Barnett.
