ALBION are adopting a softly, softly approach with new Spanish signing Vicente.
Boss Gus Poyet refuses to fuel high expectations by rushing the former Valencia winger into his debut.
Vicente was left out of the squad for Saturday’s 1-0 win at Bristol City after a tough first few days of training with the Seagulls.
Poyet explained: “As you say in England, we won’t throw him to the lions without being ready, otherwise people will start talking.
“He experienced in the first three or four days with us the intensity, the legs that he needs.
“In terms of being fit the breathing is all right but he is going to have a little work, together with Will Hoskins, to bring him back to 100 per cent.
“Then we will see, depending on the game and if we need him. We will bring him in slowly.”
Hoskins resumes training with the rest of the squad tomorrow as he bids to shake off a recurring hip problem.
