GUS Poyet wants to manage Uruguay – but only after he has proved himself at a top club.
The Albion chief has mapped out his dream managerial path once his work with the Seagulls is complete as he prepares to lock horns with ex-England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson at Leicester tomorrow.
Poyet, 43, said: “I would love to manage my country but before getting there I need to manage a top class, high division club. You need to deal with stars, top class players earning over £100,000 a week.
“When you have done that in a good way and maybe winning trophies then you are going to be ready to go to an international team.
“I need to get to the top first to be a contender to be an international manager.
“I would love it to be Uruguay because I know how things work there. I don’t know how it works here.
“I am learning and seeing things. I know now you need to win the World Cup here, if not it’s a failure!”
