Albion staged a storming comeback at The Amex tonight - but an added-time goal kept them off the top of the Championship.

Craig Mackail-Smith scored twice and won a penalty converted by Ashley Barnes as the Seagulls came from 2-0 down to lead Leeds 3-2.

But Ross McCormack struck two minutes into added time to force a 3-3 draw.

Albion were second best in the opening period and Andy Keogh and McCormack had Leeds 2-0 up.

Mackail-Smith reduced arrears with a brilliant finish, turning away from a defender before sliding his shot calmly past oncoming keeper Andy Lonergan.

He was then fouled by Leigh Bromby for Barnes' perfect spot kick on the hour as the Seagulls drew level and got their fans back in full voice.

There was delirium on three sides of The Amex when Mackail-Smith poked in Barnes' low cross on 84 minutes to edge his side ahead.

But Leeds had the final say deep into four added minutes as McCormack fired in from close range right in front of the traveling fans.
