Albion have signed versatile Chile international Gonzalo Jara Reyes on loan from West Brom until January 2.
The 26-year-old, capable of playing at the back or as a defensive midfielder, joined West Brom from Chilean giants Colo Colo for £1.4 million two years ago.
He has fallen out of first team contention at The Hawthorns this season but won his 49th cap for his country in the 4-1 defeat by Argentina earlier this month.
Albion boss Gus Poyet said: "He will bring quality and add experience of this level and higher, and help us recapture our early season form.
"He also brings versatility. He can play anywhere across the back four or as a defensive midfielder."
Reyes trained with the Seagulls today and goes straight into contention for Monday's visit by West Ham.
