Billy Paynter is poised to make his full debut for Albion at Watford tomorrow.
The on-loan Leeds striker made an impact as a second half substitute in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Birmingham.
Asked if Paynter will start at Vicarage Road, Poyet revealed: "I've got a great option.
"I've been watching Watford and when you have a little bit of presence and strength it's not a bad option, so probably yes."
Chilean right-back Gonzaloa Jara Reyes is expected to recover from a knee injury which forcfed him off in the closing stages at St Andrews.
Poyet said: "He got a massive knock on the side of the knee but knowing Gonzalo I am sure he will be allright to play."
Will Buckley should be available for the visit of Barnsley on Sunday after pulling out in the warm-up at St Andrews with another recurrence of his hamstring trouble.
"It's not bad this one at all," Poyet said. "I am more than 90 per cent sure he is going to be available for Sunday."
