Albion have been told they passed their international test with flying colours - despite a half-time streaker.

The Seagulls are in the running for future England fixtures at The Amex after a successful under-19 date against Denmark on Thursday.

A one-man pitch invasion at half-time will not affect their chances of hosting another game.

Police yesterday charged a 20-year-old Hove man with invading the pitch and indecent exposure.

An FA spokesman told The Argus: “We were delighted with how everything went from start to finish.

“Regarding the incident at half-time, this is a matter for the club and the police to deal with but it has no bearing on our thoughts on how the evening went.”

Albion would love to welcome England back to their home ground.

A realistic goal would be to stage an under-21 fixture in the next two or three seasons.

Seagulls managing director Ken Brown said: “I’m sure the FA were disappointed we had a streaker, as were a lot of people, but we have not had any negative feedback from them.

“Everyone from the FA was very happy with how things went.

“It’s not for me to speculate on whether we would get more fixtures but the FA know they can be sure of fantastic support if they come back.

"We would be delighted to stage more England fixtures."

Brown said transport to and from the stadium worked well for a crowd made up largely of youngsters.

He added: “Part of the appeal of this fixture was to get people here who can’t usually come to the stadium to see a football game.

“We will take every opportunity to do the same in the future.”

Craig Mackail-Smith came on as a 64th minute substitute for Scotland as they won 2-1 in Cyprus last night.

The scoring was complete by the time the Albion striker was introduced to the friendly in Larnaca in place of goalscorer Kenny Miller.

Mackail-Smith was denied by a goal-saving tackle deep in added time.

Albion’s under-18s have been drawn at home to Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.

The young Seagulls have a bye past the first and second rounds now they are part of a Championship club.

Their tie must be played by December 17 but a date and venue have yet to be arranged.

Crawley beat Wycombe in the first round and go to Cambridge United in the next stage on Tuesday.

The winners of that one will then face a third round trip to Charlton, Farnborough or Yeovil.
