Gus Poyet praised his side's defensive graft as they won at Derby.
But he wished they had scored a second to ease his nerves in the closing stages.
Albion were 1-0 winners over a Rams side low on confidence in front of a subdued Pride Park crowd.
Poyet said: “We knew we needed to win the game so I call it a double factor.
“The idea was to play on the nerves of the opposition playing at home but at the same time dealing with everything that was coming.
“I think we did it well. We defended like we were in a war. We threw bodies, we tried to do everything possible to stop them.
“Saying that, in this type of game earlier in the season, I think it would be a little bit easier to score the second or the third.
“They took big risks, which is normal, and then you need to take that chance to score the second goal.
“If not, you are going to suffer.
“I'm going to have a heart attack very soon!”
Craig Mackail-Smith settled the contest with his first goal in two months.
Poyet said: “What a strike!
“It was a matter of time for him.
“He needs to be there. We had plenty of balls into the box, plenty of overlaps, we hit the post as well.”
He added: “We need to maintain the quality.”
