Albion trialist Danny Lafferty made his debut in a 1-1 draw for the development squad at Reading yesterday.
The left-back from Derry City played the whole game and trains with the first team squad today and tomorrow before returning home.
Lafferty said: “I can’t take anything for granted but I’ve been well looked after by the club. I’m staying until Thursday and the club’s liaison officer has been looking after me since my arrival.”
Lafferty featured in a defence in the game behind-closed-doors at Reading’s training ground which also included Adam El-Abd and Raphael Branco.
El-Abd continued his comeback from a stress fracture of the foot with Albion’s 51st minute equaliser from the rebound after Jake Forster-Caskey struck a post from a free-kick.
Brazilian centre half Branco’s appearances for the development squad have been restricted by a passport issue.
Another trialist, left-sided defender Romulo Dos Santos, replaced Ryan Simmonds for the last half-hour.
