Ben Dickenson is on the brink of completing a dream move to Albion from Dorchester.
The 18-year-old striker is expected to finalise personal terms after the Seagulls agreed a modest fee with the Blue Square Bet south club which could, with add-ons, eventually rise to six figures.
Burnley and Bournemouth headed a list of other clubs interested in Dickenson, who was playing eight levels lower in the Wessex League for Christchurch a year ago and has scored five goals in eight games for Dorchester.
The former Southampton trainee will be part of Albion’s development squad but will not be involved in tomorrow night’s Sussex Senior Cup tie at Bognor as he is currently sidelined by ankle ligament damage.
