Albion went top of the Championship with a tense 2-1 win at Millwall today.
Ashley Barnes fired them ahead on 17 minutes from Will Buckley’s cutback.
Adam El-Abd crashed home the second five minutes after the interval after Dean Hammond had challenged for Andrea Orlandi’s corner.
At that stage it looked like Albion would win with ease.
Chris Wood sparked a hectic finale by replying on 79 minutes for a home side who were by then reduced to ten men by the dismissal of Chris Taylor.
Tomasz Kuszczak was target for the anger of home fans after he was caught by Taylor in the 68th minute.
The Millwall sub was shown a second yellow and subsequent red card.
Wood was denied an equaliser in added time when Kuszczak blocked his shot at point blank range.
Albion lost Craig Mackail-Smith (hamstring) and Bruno (groin) during the match.
