Albion kept their place at the top of the Championship after Blackpool went down 3-1 at home to Huddersfield.
The Tangerines would have leapfrogged the Seagulls with victory but went down to goals from Lee Novak, James Vaughan and Oliver Norwood.
The result was enough to lift Huddersfield into second place, two points behind Albion, with Blackpool slipping to fourth.
