Will Buckley came off the bench to salvage a point for Albion at The Amex tonight.

But the 1-1 draw with Ipswich knocks them off the top of the Championship.

Buckley, a big threat after his 62nd minute introduction, struck from close range after good work by right-back Inigo Calderon.

Calderon was at fault for the Ipswich opener when Daryl Murphy got in front of him to head home at the far post on 27 minutes after a great cross by Carlos Edwards.

Tomasz Kuszczak kept Albion in the game by denying Murphy straight after half-time.

Then the hosts stepped up a gear playing towards the North Stand.

Stephen Dobbie’s deflected shot looped narrowly wide, Ashley Barnes was just off target and Scott Loach parried a LuaLua blast.

Calderon forced his way to the byline before getting the ball low across goal for Buckley to finish in the 80th minute.

But Albion did not look like completing the job and a point was the most they merited.
