Albion suffered more home frustration as they lost 1-0 to Middlesbrough today.
Marvin Emnes got the only goal in the 21st minute with a shot which deflected off Gordon Greer to wrongfoot keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
Albion had some good chances to level but Dean Hammond headed a David corner off target and Craig Mackail-Smith shot too close to Jason Steele, who tipped over.
Steele got down to his left to produce a reflex save from Ashley Barnes’ downward header after the break.
But Barnes should probably have left the keeper with no chance as he met Hammond’s pinpoint cross.
Will Buckley, Stephen Dobbie and Kazenga LuaLua were all sent on as subs in a bid to grab a goal.
But it was Boro who went closest in the final stages as sub Ishmael Miller poked a chance wide when clean through.
