Hastings United manager John Lambert has been boosted by the news that Sam Adams’ ankle injury is not as bad as first feared.
The striker came off after only 17 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Ringmer on Tuesday night after a picking up a nasty looking injury.
Lambert said: “I have spoken to Sam and the good news is that is an X-ray has revealed that he has not fractured the ankle.
“He is on crutches for a few days to rest the injury but, hopefully, will not be out for too long.”
Lambert played his strongest side available in the first half and goals by the on trial Scott Marshall, who has previously been with Burgess Hill and Horsham YMCA, and Frankie Sawyer gave United a 2-0 lead. Ringmer hit back after the break through Joe Dryer.
