Steve Bruce said he was “absolutely shocked” at how superior Albion were to his side.
The Newcastle boss appeared to suggest his side should do better against teams like the Seagulls.
He came under fire from media after his team were outclassed at the Amex.
Leandro Trossard, Danny Welbeck and Neal Maupay were on target in a 3-0 home win, repeating the scoreline when the sides met on Tyneside.

Bruce said︰ “I was absolutely shocked, basically, at Brighton being, no disrespect to Brighton, that far in front of us in every department tonight. With the ball, without the ball.
“We didn’t do enough and that is the biggest frustration that certainly I feel sitting here tonight.
“You can be beaten, that’s for sure, but it is the manner in which you get beaten.
“I have to accept we were beaten far too easily today.
