Augustus Caesar

From: Brighton

Influences: Andre 3000, Odd Future, Kanye West, Jay Z, Korn, Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, Wiz Khalifa, Rizzle Kicks, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah, Example, Rick Ross, Waka Flocka Flame, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Coldplay.

Profile: It was the cult movie Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure which inspired rapper, songwriter and producer to ask for a guitar for his birthday in 1996.

But after breaking a string on the first day, the guitar was hidden behind a cabinet for two years - and it wasn't until 1999 he got his first Spanish guitar and took lessons.

Augustus soon became an obsessive, spending hours learning Jimi Hendrix and Steve Vai pieces, even skipping school to put in more hours on the fretboard.

Moving to Brighton in 2006 the hip-hop fan met rapper Hinesy Hines, who encouraged him to play a few open mic nights and develop his own sound incorporating both rock and hip-hop elements.

The results have been released as the Hope EP, which saw daylight in December, supported by a video filmed on Brighton beach, and the forthcoming Lionheart EP.
