The Argus: My Federation

My Federation

From: Brighton

Influences: Led Zeppelin, Neu, Herbie Hancock, Free, Daft Punk, DJ Shadow, Lamb, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Prince, Motorhead and Saxon.

Profile: Self-proclaimed psychedelic electro-rockers with bells My Federation are following up their debut EP Honey Bee on Monday (24) with the title track from their forthcoming album. Don't Wanna Die, the band's debut album, is being released on the Eye Industries label on Monday, April 7. It adds to what is already a packed year for the band, who are heading out to support James on their UK spring tour next month.

My Federation frontman Lee 'Muddy' Baker has already worked with James vocalist Tim Booth's recent solo album, and is working on the newly reformed band's first album since they split in 2001.

As Lee puts it: "We're happy to stop short of world domination" just as long as "people leave our gigs sweaty and smiling".
