The Argus: Polymath

Polymath

From: Brighton

Influences: Omar Rodriguez Lopez, The Mars Volta, ASIWYFA, Talons, Thrice, Three Trapped Tigers, Shapes, Axes, At The Drive-In and Bosnian Rainbows.

Profile: Initially the 2012 side project of MBMR drummer, Tim Laulik-Walters, as a platform for him to concentrate on guitar, Polymath has grown into Brighton's newest instrumental math band.

As Tim puts it: "The idea of Polymath was to write music without the restrictions that each member faced in their own separate bands."

As such the songs are glitchy, packed with off-kilter guitars and shifting time signatures.

Polymath have recorded several singles and are now working on a new release and short film directed by award winning Spanish director, Jonathan Cenzual Burley.
