The Argus: Download of the Week
The Argus: Scribe Tribe

Scribe Tribe

From: Brighton

Influences: Boom bap and all that jazz.

Profile: MCs Marz, Abi-D, Teejan and Kendal make up the four-man underground hip-hop crew Scribe Tribe, who release their music through Marz’s own Zram Records.

Runners-up in the Juice 107.2 Battle Of The Bands earlier this year, beaten to the punch by previous Download stars The Gypsy Switch, the quartet has also appeared on the station’s Tony Marks New Music Show.

Among the acts they have supported and played alongside are recent chart-topper Wretch 32, Yasmin, FlipTrix and Phi Life Cypher.

The quartet have known each other for more than 15 years, but have only started getting into the rap scene for the past couple of years.

This week’s download comes from their debut album G-Strings And Socks, which was released in December and is currently available online from iTunes or Amazon.
